ALDERSHOT

Newsletter delivery in our Labour ward.

BASINGSTOKE

A group is out every Saturday in Basingstoke from 10am - 12 noon until further notice. We will meet at the Labour Club in Sandys Road. Activities will vary from week to week -surgeries, canvassing, Voter ID,For details, contact Andy McCormick – 07879 436985 or

Thursday December 11 6-8pm. Unite office, Longley House, East Park,RH10 6AP (behind the Arora Hotel) Bob Fromant will give lifts from Reigate,Redhill & Horley, provide training and supply tea & biscuits.
If you would like to do some phoning from your home or office he can supply lists, give one to one training and will collect the lists after 2 weeks.

PORTSMOUTH NORTH

Saturday 6 December, 11am: Meet on the streets for doorstep work at the junction of Baffins Road & Hayling Avenue. Contact is Tim on 07505 037 171.

BRIGHTON

Wednesday December 17, Brighthelm Centre, North Road, Brighton BN1 1YD and starts at 1.30pm. Alan Johnson, Sec. of State for Health will address the meeting and there will be an opportunity to ask questions. Local people, patient groups, trade union reps, Labour Party members, healthcare workers, charities and healthcare organisations are invited to attend.

Organisations may bring along small banner stands and literature to circulate. The Minister has to leave at 2.30pm but we have the room until 3.30pm and Nancy Platts is keen to hear more of your views on healthcare, so after the Minister has left she will be inviting organisations to speak for a few minutes about what they do and their current campaigns. If you are representing an organisation, please let her know if you would like to participate in the second session.

ROCHESTER AND CHATHAM

Saturday December 13 10am-12.30pm. Emmaus Church, central Chatham. Rochester PPC Teresa Murray and Chatham MP Jonathan Shaw will be holding a
Keep Warm, Keep Well event. It is a local version of the Dept. of Health's campaign, and will be advising older people on what benefits, grants, and help they can get, and from which bodies, to ensure they stay healthy over the winter. Invites have gone to representatives of all the major energy suppliers, and representatives of local and national groups that are concerned with older people's rights/needs.
